Reply language and speed

Reply language vs. App language#

App language (Settings → General) controls WingHUD's own screens — buttons, labels, menus. Reply language (Settings → Voice & audio) controls what language WingHUD answers you in, and what it listens for when transcribing your voice. They're independent: you can run WingHUD's own interface in one language while it replies to you in another. WingHUD doesn't detect your language automatically: it replies in, and listens for, the reply language you've set, which is English (US) unless you pick another.

Reply language follows App language until you choose one#

Until you explicitly pick a reply language, WingHUD replies in whatever your App language currently is. Set one explicitly in Settings → Voice & audio and reply language stops following App language from then on, even if you later change App language again.

Reply speed#

The speed slider in Settings → Voice & audio controls how fast spoken replies play back. Voice previews use the same speed setting too, so what you hear there is what you'll get in a real reply.

When you write in another language#

If you write or speak to WingHUD in one of its other languages, it offers - in that language - to switch: "Reply in ..." changes only the reply language, "Everything in ..." changes WingHUD's screens too. "Not now" hides it, and "Don't show this again" turns it off. It shows at most once per session and three times in all; changing your reply language in Settings starts the count again. Search "language" in Settings to find both language settings.
