Voice and mic
WingHUD isn't hearing me#
Check that the right microphone is selected in Settings → Voice & audio — the level meter there moves when it hears you, which is the fastest way to confirm it's the right device. If you're using push-to-talk, make sure you're actually holding the mic down (or its hotkey) while you speak, not just clicking it.
I don't see the Open Mic option#
Open Mic is hidden for a few reply languages where continuous listening isn't reliable enough yet. Check your reply language in Settings → Voice & audio — switching to a supported one brings the option back. If "Hey Wingman" doesn't wake it, or it wakes on its own, see Microphone and Open Mic.
Replies aren't being read aloud#
Look at the speaker button next to the mic: "Text only" means answers arrive as text - click it to switch to "Read aloud" (the same as "Read replies aloud" in Settings → Voice & audio). Using the mic switches it on too, unless "Turn on read-aloud when I use the mic" is off. A small amber dot on it means today's voice allowance is used up; answers are read again once it resets. In a party, a typed @wingman question is answered in text only. You can always click the speaker under any reply to hear it.
A different voice read my reply#
If WingHUD can't reach your chosen voice for a moment — a network hiccup, or a firewall or VPN blocking it — it reads the reply with a backup voice instead of staying silent, and says so once in the chat. It switches back to your voice on its own once it's reachable again, so there's nothing to change. If it keeps happening, check that your firewall or VPN isn't blocking WingHUD.
The voice indicator is in the way#
Drag it by its body to anywhere on screen. WingHUD remembers the spot and puts it back there every time, and if that screen is no longer connected it moves back onto the nearest one.
