Party chat
Write in the party#
With the Party chip open, type in the box at the bottom ("Message the party") and press Send. The smiley button opens an emoji picker with search and your recent ones. Messages are up to 1,000 characters. Write @wingman anywhere in a message to ask the wingman.
Share pictures#
While the party chat is open, the Screenshot, Area Capture and Last Scene widgets (and their hotkeys, and the camera buttons in the party's mic bar) attach the capture to your message instead of sending it to the wingman. Nothing goes out until you press Send - check the thumbnail first, and press ✕ or Esc to drop it. Add up to 10 screenshots or area captures to one message; a Last Scene clip goes on its own and plays as a short animation. Write @wingman in the caption to ask about the picture.
Send a reply from a game chat#
Under any wingman reply in a game chat, Send to party posts it into your party chat as a card ("Shared from Alex's Dota 2 chat") with the whole reply, so friends can read the advice you got. It appears while you're in a party. Hardware Advisor replies can't be sent.
Report a message or a player#
Right-click the player's avatar in the member strip (or use ⋮ on their row in Friends) and choose Report, then pick a reason. The report goes to the WingHUD team with the last 30 messages of the party, so we can see what happened; the player isn't told. Reports are kept for 90 days. Block them too if you don't want them to add you or join your parties again.
How long party chat is kept#
Party chat and pictures are only for the party's members. They're kept while the party exists, so someone who joins late or reconnects sees the recent chat, and deleted 24 hours after the party ends. They aren't saved in your WingHUD chat history.
