Hotkeys
Toggle overlay#
The toggle overlay hotkey shows or hides WingHUD's chat panel and widgets over your game. It's Ctrl+Tab (default — change it in Settings → Hotkeys). See Changing a hotkey for how to rebind it, and Overlay and hotkeys troubleshooting if it stops working.
Screenshot#
The screenshot hotkey captures your whole screen and stages it in the chat so you can send it with a question. It's Ctrl+2 (default — change it in Settings → Hotkeys).
Area capture#
The area capture hotkey lets you draw a box around just part of your screen — like a talent panel or a HUD element — instead of capturing the whole thing. It's Ctrl+X (default — change it in Settings → Hotkeys).
Mic (hold to talk)#
Hold the mic hotkey to record a question out loud and release it to send — no typing needed. It's Ctrl+1 (default — change it in Settings → Hotkeys). It stays push-to-talk even with Open Mic on. To ask without pressing anything, turn on the "Hey Wingman Wake" switch on the mic widget and start with "Hey Wingman".
Last Scene#
The Last Scene hotkey sends WingHUD the last few seconds of gameplay to react to, the same as clicking the Last Scene widget. It's no key set by default, and only does anything once "Remember recent gameplay" is turned on in Settings → Widgets.
YouTube#
The YouTube hotkey opens the YouTube guide popup, the same as clicking the YouTube widget. It's no key set by default.
Hardware advisor#
The Hardware advisor hotkey scans your PC and gives a read on performance, bottlenecks, and game compatibility, the same as clicking the Hardware Advisor widget. It's no key set by default.
In-game chat — show/hide#
The In-game chat — show/hide hotkey turns the in-game chat (the small strip over your game) on or off, the same as the "Over the game" switch in the chat header. It works in Overlay mode only. It has no key until you set one.
Fold / unfold in-game chat#
The Fold / unfold in-game chat hotkey switches the in-game chat between the whole strip and a single row with just the mic, the speaker and the text box, the same as the arrow next to its ✕. It has no key until you set one.
Type to wingman#
The Type to wingman hotkey puts the cursor where you can type to WingHUD: the in-game chat's text box when it's on screen, the chat's box when the overlay is open, and if neither is showing it opens the overlay ready to type. It's Ctrl+Enter (default — change it in Settings → Hotkeys). Enter sends and puts you back in your game; Esc goes back without sending. Some games keep hold of the mouse while you play, like many shooters, so the mouse can't reach the in-game chat: there its text box shows 🔒 and "Press Ctrl+Enter to type here", and this key is the way in. It only answers around your games and WingHUD, so in other apps the same keys keep doing their usual job.
Reset to defaults#
"Reset to defaults" on the Hotkeys page puts every hotkey back to its original combination in one click. See Changing a hotkey and conflicts for how rebinding and conflicts actually work.
