Friends
Your friend code#
Your friend code looks like WING-7K3P-QD and sits at the top of the Friends widget, with a copy button next to it. Send it to a friend so they can add you. It's also in Settings → Friends & party, where Regenerate gives you a new one: the old code stops working right away, and friends you already have stay friends.
Add a friend#
Open the Friends widget, click + Add friend, paste your friend's code and press Add. They get a request; once they accept, you're friends. You can also add someone you're in a party with: right-click their avatar in the party room and choose Add friend. Joining someone's party doesn't make you friends by itself. Pasting a party link or party code (WING-P-…) into the same field joins that party instead.
Friend requests#
Requests for you show under REQUESTS in the Friends widget with Accept and Ignore, and a small blue number on the friends icon counts them - there's no pop-up. A request expires after 14 days if nobody answers it. You can have up to 200 friends.
Online status and "Show what I'm playing"#
Friends see whether you're online, the game you're in, and whether you're in a party. Turn off "Show what I'm playing" in Settings → Friends & party to show only Online. You show as offline as soon as you close WingHUD or sign out; offline friends show roughly when they were last seen ("3 h ago", "Yesterday").
Set your status: Online, Away, Invisible or Offline#
Click the status line under your name in the Friends widget (or go to Settings → Friends & party → Status) and pick one:
- Online - friends see you're here and what you're playing.
- Away - friends see "Away" and for how long. It stays until you change it.
- Invisible - friends see you as offline, but you still see them, get invites and can join parties; people in your party still see you there.
- Offline - turns Friends & party off for you: you go offline for everyone and invites wait until you're back. Picking it while you're in a party asks first, then leaves the party.
While you're Online, WingHUD shows you as Away by itself after 10 minutes without keyboard or mouse input, and back to Online when you return. A game window in front counts as input, so you don't go Away mid-match. Change the time or turn it off with Auto-away in Settings → Friends & party. Your status is kept when you restart WingHUD.
Your avatar#
Settings → Friends & party → Avatar → Upload, pick a PNG, JPG or WebP picture (up to 40 MB), drag and zoom it so the circle shows what you want, then Save avatar. WingHUD keeps a small square copy. Your friends see it in the Friends widget, your party sees it in the party room and on invites, and it shows on your party's invite page. Without one, your initials show. Remove takes it off. If you change it many times in an hour, WingHUD asks you to try again later.
The ⚙ in the Friends widget's header opens Settings → Friends & party.
Mute, remove, block and report#
Click the ⋮ on a friend's row (or right-click it) for Mute, Remove friend, Block and Report. Mute silences their voice for you in every party until you unmute them; they aren't told. Remove ends the friendship quietly. Block also removes them, and they can't add you or join your parties - Settings → Friends & party → Blocked players lists everyone you blocked, with Unblock. Report sends what happened to the WingHUD team; in a party it includes the last 30 messages so we can check. The same Block and Report are on every member's avatar in a party.
Display names#
Your display name is what friends and party members see; it starts as "Player" and four random characters. Change it in Settings → Friends & party → Display name, or on the Friends & party page of setup. Names are 3-20 letters, numbers or spaces and don't have to be unique - the friend code is what identifies you.
