Game detection
WingHUD sees which game is running on your PC and starts every answer with that game in mind, so you never have to say what you're playing. It recognizes 200+ PC games, each with its own chat and its own memory of what you've asked before.
What you show it
WingHUD only sees your screen when you show it. Screenshot sends your whole screen, Area Capture just the part you drag out, and Last Scene a few frames from your recent gameplay, so you can ask about a moment after it happened. Last Scene is off until you turn it on.
Dota 2: the live feed and your Steam history
In Dota 2, WingHUD follows your match through the game's own data feed — hero, items, gold, score and the match clock — without watching your screen. During the draft, the Dota 2 widget reads both teams' picks, the bans and your role, and connecting Steam lets it learn from your recent matches.
World of Warcraft: the Companion
In World of Warcraft, the Companion addon — one click from the WoW widget — records your class, spec, level, gear, zone and weekly progress. WingHUD reads it each time you type /reload, so advice fits your actual character.
Current-patch lookup
WingHUD tracks each supported game's latest version and patch notes. When a question depends on something recent — a balance change, a new item, this week's meta — it looks it up as you ask and cites the source.
Built-in game libraries
For some games, WingHUD carries its own built-in library of curated knowledge — heroes or classes, items, abilities, matchups and strategies — kept up to date as the game patches. It answers from that library first, and still looks things up online when a question needs something newer.
Where it looks things up
For each game it recognizes, WingHUD keeps a researched guide to where that game's best, current information lives — the fullest community wiki, the official patch notes, pro-settings sites for shooters. It checks those sources first instead of whatever a web search turns up, and tells you where the answer came from.
What it remembers about you
WingHUD remembers you as a player, game by game: your rank or level, what you main, how you like to play, what you're struggling with and the goals you're working toward. Come back days later and answers start from where you are, not from scratch.
Common questions
Does WingHUD know the current patch?
Yes. WingHUD tracks each supported game's latest version and patch notes, and when a question depends on something recent it looks it up at the moment you ask and cites where the answer came from. For Dota 2 it also keeps its own hero and matchup data, refreshed every week.
How is WingHUD different from ChatGPT or a browser AI?
A browser AI only knows what you type into it; WingHUD starts from your game. It sits on top of the game, already knows which game is running, sees what you choose to show it, and in Dota 2 and World of Warcraft reads your live match or your character directly. It also remembers what it learns about you per game, so later answers start from your playstyle, level and goals instead of from scratch.
Can WingHUD see my Dota 2 match?
Yes, through the game's own data feed: your hero, items, gold, score and the match clock, updated as you play, without watching your screen. During the draft, the Dota 2 widget reads the pick screen for both teams' picks, the bans and your role, and connecting Steam adds your recent match history.
Does WingHUD know my WoW character?
Yes, once the Companion addon is installed — one click from the WoW widget. It knows your class, spec, level, gear, zone and weekly progress as of your last /reload in World of Warcraft; without the addon, WingHUD still knows you're playing, just not which character.
Where do WingHUD's answers come from?
From your game first: what it detects, what you show it, and in Dota 2 and World of Warcraft your live match or character. When it needs to look something up, it goes to a researched list of that game's most reliable, current sources — the best community wiki, the official patch notes, pro-settings sites — and cites where the answer came from.
Does WingHUD remember my skill level and goals?
Yes. As you chat, WingHUD keeps notes for each game on your rank or level, what you main, your playstyle, what you're struggling with and your goals, plus what it advised and how that went. It recalls your last few chats about that game too, so it picks up where you left off. It only keeps notes about you and your own play.

The overlay itself translates, and so do the replies.
Pick a language in Settings and the whole overlay switches live — no restart needed. Right-to-left languages like Hebrew get a real RTL layout, not a mirrored afterthought.
Lock in a language and WingHUD's replies come back in it every time, instead of guessing from what you typed. Leave it on Default and WingHUD keeps auto-detecting and replying in whatever language you write, exactly like before.

Why is WingHUD probably the best AI for gaming?
Because it isn't a general chatbot with a gaming skin. WingHUD maintains its own internal knowledge libraries per game — built and refreshed continuously — so the model can answer each game's hardest questions with real, current data behind the answer: the meta this week, this patch, your bracket — not a guess memorized at training time.
It's also tuned to you. WingHUD already knows which game you're playing the moment you ask, and over time it learns your playstyle, level, and goals — so the same question gets an answer tailored to your situation, not to some average player.
And it was built by gamers, just for gamers — not adapted from an office chatbot. Global hotkeys, voice in and out, widgets that live inside your game: every detail exists so you can ask without ever leaving the match.
Is WingHUD anti-cheat safe?
WingHUD is built to avoid the techniques anti-cheat systems object to. It does not inject DLLs into the game process, does not hook DirectX or DXGI, and does not read or modify game memory. It runs as an ordinary always-on-top Windows application next to your game, in the same way Discord's or Steam's own windows do.
To be straight with you: no third-party tool can promise an absolute guarantee against a false positive, and each game's own terms of service still apply. What we can say is that WingHUD deliberately avoids the injection and hooking behaviour that gets tools flagged in the first place.
Does WingHUD work in fullscreen games?
WingHUD works with games running in Windowed or Borderless Windowed mode — which is how most PC games run by default, and what most players already use for alt-tabbing.
True exclusive fullscreen is not supported yet, because drawing on top of it requires DirectX hooking — the same injection-style technique that raises anti-cheat risk. If the overlay does not appear over your game, open that game's display settings and switch it to Borderless Windowed.
Do I need an NVIDIA RTX graphics card?
No. WingHUD runs its AI in the cloud rather than on your GPU, so it works on any Windows 10 or 11 PC — including laptops and integrated graphics. There is no RTX requirement and no local model to download.
That is the main practical difference between WingHUD and NVIDIA's G-Assist, which does require a GeForce RTX card — see WingHUD vs NVIDIA G-Assist.
Does WingHUD record my screen?
No. Screenshot and area capture only analyse the image you explicitly choose to send. Last Scene is off by default, and when you turn it on it keeps a short rolling buffer of recent frames in memory only — nothing is written to disk, and nothing leaves your PC until you actually trigger it.
Which games does WingHUD support?
WingHUD automatically recognises 200+ PC games across competitive shooters, MOBAs, MMOs, RPGs, survival and sandbox games, and live-service titles. Because WingHUD reads what is on your screen rather than integrating with any one game's API, it can still help with titles outside that detection list — including technical troubleshooting like frame-rate and settings questions.
Is WingHUD Windows only?
Yes. WingHUD is built specifically for Windows 10 and Windows 11 PC gaming and overlay workflows. There is no macOS, Linux, or console version.
Do I need an OpenAI API key?
No. WingHUD handles the AI connection for you. You do not need to obtain, pay for, or manage your own API keys — unlike most open-source in-game AI tools.
What is "Last Scene"?
It lets WingHUD review a gameplay moment that already happened. Think of it like ShadowPlay's instant replay — except instead of saving a clip, WingHUD tells you what went on. WingHUD keeps a short rolling buffer of recent frames, so when something confusing happens you press a hotkey and ask about it. No perfectly-timed screenshot required.
How do I get WingHUD?
Install WingHUD from the Microsoft Store (no SmartScreen warning that way; a direct download is available as a fallback), then create your account inside the WingHUD client with your email or Google. It is free during the open beta.
A friend who already has WingHUD can also email you an invite from inside the app (Friends → Invite to WingHUD), so you start out as friends.
Is WingHUD available to everyone right now?
Yes. WingHUD is in open beta: anyone on Windows 10 or 11 can install it and create an account, and it is free during the beta. Each account has a daily and weekly usage allowance for the AI; playing with friends in a party isn't metered. Pricing will be announced after the beta.
What is the difference between "Last Scene" and "Watch Me Play"?
Last Scene reviews a recent moment after it happens, and ships today. Watch Me Play is the longer-term vision for continuous live coaching, pattern detection, and post-session analysis — still in development.
Can I voice chat with friends in WingHUD?
Yes. Friends & party lets you talk by voice and text with up to five friends on top of whatever each of you is playing, and the wingman is in the room: anyone can ask it, out loud or with @wingman, and everyone gets the answer. Is party voice recorded?
No. Party voice goes live between the members and is never recorded or stored. Party chat is kept only while the party exists and is deleted 24 hours after it ends.
