Two WingHUD hotkeys set to the same combination#

If you set a hotkey to a combination another WingHUD hotkey already uses, the older one is automatically unbound rather than blocking your change. A note appears on the row that lost it, something like "Screenshot hotkey was unbound — Ctrl+1 is now Toggle overlay." Go back to Settings → Hotkeys and give the unbound one a different combination if you still want it.

A hotkey doesn't work because another program is using it#

Windows only lets one running program claim a given key combination at a time. If another app on your PC already has it, the row in Settings → Hotkeys shows "is also used by another app on this PC" and the hotkey won't fire. Change either WingHUD's hotkey or the other app's to a combination nothing else is using — WingHUD warns you the moment you pick one that's already taken elsewhere.

My hotkey doesn't do anything in a game#

If a game runs in true Fullscreen mode, Windows lets it draw over every other window, including WingHUD's overlay — your hotkeys are still registering, you just can't see the result. The first time this happens in a session, WingHUD posts a one-time message telling you to switch the game to Borderless or Windowed Fullscreen in its own display settings, which lets the overlay draw on top normally. This is about the game's own display mode, not WingHUD's Overlay/Window mode setting — the two are unrelated.
