Hotkey defaults and changing them
What hotkeys do#
WingHUD's hotkeys are global — they work no matter which window has focus, including a full-screen or borderless game, and the same combinations work whether WingHUD is set to Overlay mode or Window mode. Each one triggers a specific action: opening the overlay, taking a screenshot, press-and-hold to talk to the mic, and so on. WingHUD doesn't need to be focused, or even visible, for a hotkey to fire.
Default hotkeys#
Toggle overlay is Ctrl+Tab (default — change it in Settings → Hotkeys), the mic (press and hold to talk) is Ctrl+1 (default — change it in Settings → Hotkeys), Screenshot is Ctrl+2 (default — change it in Settings → Hotkeys), and Area capture is Ctrl+X (default — change it in Settings → Hotkeys). Last Scene (no key set by default), YouTube (no key set by default), and Hardware Advisor (no key set by default) all ship with no key set — bind one yourself in Settings → Hotkeys if you want quick access to them.
Change a hotkey#
In Settings → Hotkeys, click Change next to the row you want, then press the key combination you want to use — Esc cancels without changing anything. Click Clear to unbind a hotkey entirely, leaving it with no key set. Both take effect immediately; there's no Save button on this page. If the combination you press already belongs to another action, it moves to the new one: the other action is left with no key, and WingHUD tells you which one lost it. A widget's own key, set from the gear on the widget, works the same way.
Reset all hotkeys to their defaults#
"Reset to defaults" at the bottom of Settings → Hotkeys puts every hotkey back to its original combination in one click, with no confirmation prompt — it applies immediately, the same way changing a single hotkey does.
