Play a sound when a widget hotkey fires#

Settings → Widgets → "Play a sound when a widget hotkey fires" beeps whenever a widget's hotkey triggers it — handy mid-game with the overlay hidden, so you know the action actually went through.

Show widget hotkeys#

Settings → Widgets → "Show widget hotkeys" displays each widget's assigned hotkey directly on the widget itself. Turn it off for a cleaner look — the hotkeys keep working either way.

Dota 2: Steam match data#

The Dota 2 card in Settings → Widgets has a "Connect" button that signs you into Steam the same way the Steam client itself does, so WingHUD can read which role you queued for in your own recent matches. This only works while Dota 2 itself is closed, since your account can't be signed in from two places using Dota 2 at once. Once connected, "Disconnect" here removes the synced data and disconnects your Steam account.

Personalize draft advice#

The Dota 2 Picks Assistant widget reads your current draft or in-game hero lineup and suggests picks or analyzes the matchup. "Personalize draft advice" controls whether it also factors in your synced hero pool and roles for those suggestions — turn it off if you'd rather get generic matchup advice only. It works whether or not you've connected Steam; connecting Steam just adds real role data on top.

Dota 2: live match feed#

The Dota 2 card shows whether WingHUD is currently receiving Dota's own live match data — your hero, level, items, gold, KDA and the draft — and how many seconds old that data is. If it says it isn't receiving anything, add -gamestateintegration to Dota 2's launch options in Steam; "Check setup" on this card confirms whether WingHUD is ready to receive it and tells you what's missing if not.

World of Warcraft: Companion addon#

For World of Warcraft, WingHUD reads your character's class, level, gear, and other details through an optional companion addon, installed with one click from the World of Warcraft card in Settings → Widgets. After installing or updating it, type /reload (or /winghud) in-game so WingHUD can actually read your character — until you do, the card shows "awaiting reload" even though the addon is installed.

Game cards you don't see#

In Settings → Widgets, the Dota 2 and World of Warcraft settings cards only appear for games you have: ones WingHUD has seen you run, found installed on your PC, or that you pinned. If one is hidden, click "Show widgets for other games" below those cards in Settings to see it anyway. This is about the settings page; for where the widgets themselves are on the overlay, see Where are my widgets?.

Remember recent gameplay#

Last Scene is off by default. Turn on "Remember recent gameplay" in Settings → Widgets and WingHUD keeps a short rolling buffer of gameplay in memory, so you can ask about a moment that just happened. Nothing is captured until you turn this on, and nothing leaves your PC until you actually trigger Last Scene via its widget or hotkey.

Replay window#

The "Replay window" slider on the Widgets page sets how many recent seconds of gameplay Last Scene keeps, from 5 to 30 seconds. It only matters once "Remember recent gameplay" is turned on above.
