Cookie policy

This page lists the cookies and similar storage winghud.com can use, and why. If you visit from the EU or EEA, the UK, Switzerland, South Korea or Canada, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or we can’t tell where you are, nothing in the Analytics or Advertising categories is set until you allow it: on your first visit a banner lets you accept or reject each category. Everywhere else both categories start on, and the banner tells you so and lets you reject either or both straight away. The site uses Google Consent Mode v2 so Google’s tags respect your choice, and OpenAI’s ads pixel loads only while Advertising is on. A choice you have made is always kept, wherever you are. You can change or withdraw it at any time from Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Which country you are in is looked up on our server from your connection (the address isn’t stored).

Necessary

Always on. Remembers your choice, plus a couple of small first-party items your browser keeps so the site works. No tracking, and none of these are shared with anyone outside WingHUD.

Analytics

Set only while Analytics is on (see above for when it starts on). Counts visits and which pages are used; IP anonymised; no cross-site advertising profile is built.

Advertising

Set only while Advertising is on (see above for when it starts on). We advertise WingHUD in ChatGPT, and OpenAI’s ads pixel tells us whether a visit that started from one of those ads ended in a click to install WingHUD. It isn’t used to show you ads on this site, and it never runs in the WingHUD app.

When you click to install WingHUD (the Microsoft Store button or the direct download), our server also reports that click to OpenAI, so our ads in ChatGPT are credited correctly: an event ID, the time and the address of the page you clicked on (without anything after the ?). With your advertising consent, the ad’s click identifier (a code OpenAI adds to the link of one of our ads in ChatGPT) is kept for 30 days and sent with the download report, and once more as “first login” if you sign in to WingHUD for the first time within 7 days of the click. Without it, the identifier is neither kept nor sent, and the report is marked so that OpenAI keeps it out of any personalization. No cookie, IP address, browser details, email address or name goes with the report. The pixel and the server report carry the same event ID, so a click is counted once.

Changing or withdrawing your choice

Open Cookie settings in the footer of any page to turn Analytics or Advertising on or off, at any time. Withdrawing Analytics removes the Google Analytics cookies on your next page load; withdrawing Advertising switches the ads pixel off and removes its cookies and storage straight away. Rejecting cookies does not limit any part of the site. Withdrawing Advertising also removes the ad’s click identifier from your browser; the install-click report described under Advertising then goes without it and is marked as opted out of personalization.

Because the site uses Google Consent Mode v2, Google’s tags read your choice directly and no Google tag is loaded at all until you allow it. When you allow Analytics, the data is processed by Google LLC in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. The ads pixel’s data and the install-click report are processed by OpenAI in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data generally.
